There are some beautiful movies I’ve watched but I’ve never rewatched again because I’m not in the same mindset as I was anymore. I’m scared I won’t see the beauty in it anymore. I love a good summery movie. Especially if there’s also travel involved. Think shorts flip flops and a bike. I like movies that feel like there is no real plot or there is one but the movie moves pretty slow and it has a light feeling. Movies like this includes ‘A Rainy day in New York’ (2019) and ‘Once Upon a time in Hollywood’ (2019). I like the realness of A24 films. I love a chick flick. I love Julia Style’s acting. I love a nice mindfuck film. ‘Nightcrawler’ (2014) by Jake Gyllenhaal was one that really made me think. I love a nice mystery vibe like ‘Super 8’ (2011) and ‘Gravity Falls’ (this is a movie my sister and I enjoy). I like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ (2018) (I love Queen songs). I research youtube video essays on movies. I enjoy reading and listening to another point of view.
🧣👖 Personal fashion
Personal fashion started at a young age. I remember my mom making me and sisters doll’s these really cute and fashionable outfits. I remember a very layered purple frill top and green corduroy jeans that I wore in grade 2 tucked in with black boots and really liking that outfit. Movies with fashion scenes made me sit at the edge of my seat. The fashion aspect of cat woman with Halle Berry was a real fashion eye opener. A movie that I kept so deeply in my heart at a younger age was ‘Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is dead’ (1991). It really inspired me and increased my interest in fashion. I recently refilled my young footsteps and started with designing classes so I know my younger self would be super excited. Today my personal fashion is continuously evolving. I don’t know how to define it. I like cool items. But do I always find them or do I just make Pinterest moodboards about unrealistic shop or thrift finds? 100% the second one. But I see a pattern.
For now the vibe is High necks and buttons, boots under long skirt. Earth colours I’m collecting bangles at the moment. *landscape fit check*. Then simultaneously it’s a plain canvas cool girl walking down the street. Flowy pants. Red high top converse.
🪡🎨 Art
There is a bleakness in art that attracts me. Art is a pretty wide range. I haven’t found my place yet. Learning drums and guitar is my next virtue. Making my own clothing pieces. I like watching people draw doodles. I paint sometimes.
🎸🎙 Music
Music music music.
My music range would definitely be more of an indie sound. If I were to make music that would definitely be my sound. Wallows was one of the first bands I discovered on Spotify and that I like till this day. I like a 90s kid movie soundtrack. I love a Synthpop vibe–like ‘elegance and you’ by Korine. I love an angry girl song (‘gigantic’ by the Pixies) but what I absolutely love is a French soundtrack. First song that comes go mind is ‘Belleville’ by Grand Blanc. I love a few songs by Odezenne but ‘Bleu Fuchsia’ is my ultimate favorite. I love ‘Lomepal’, ‘Baisers Volés’ by The Pirouettes (live version). Videoclub . A few or my rock 90s songs include ‘Sunburn’ by Fuel, ‘She said’ by Collective Soul, LISTEN TO ‘YEAH YEAH YEAH’ BY THE SOUNDS AND ‘THE SWING’ BY EVERCLEAR!!!!
I love The Drums, Surf Curse, Vundabar. ‘Chop’ by vundabar makes my nod my head aggressively. They’re pretty similar. A beautiful beautiful recent soundtrack I would recommend listening to is the ‘We Are Who Are’ one.
🥙☕️ Food
Not what I eat or drink but what I make. I’m a barista. I have been since I got the chance the be one. I’m working on my coffee art but so far I’m pretty satisfied what I’ve whipped up so far {no pun intended ;)} I unintentionally have a small mug collection. A caprese sandwich is my favorite kind. I have a thing for basil pesto.
