Sam is a digital artist who makes use of photographs +code+ installation. He creates hyperreal, uncanny images and interactive works using flash photography and salvaged hardware. A co-founder of O++O and TWIST collaborator, his work examines internet culture, digital ephemera, and technology’s absurdities.
Sam lives on the Internet. He wants to live in the Internet. He takes photographs. He hates photographers. He speaks both hardware and software fluently.

✋🇯🇵 Reading time
Sam doesn't read that much anymore although he loved the short, digestible stories by Jorge Louis Borges and George Saunders. His current favorite is the fun picture book "Wooden joints In Classical Japanese Architecture" by Torashichi Sumiyoshi. His childhood classic was Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown.

🇬🇧🎬 Sam's Movie time
‘Zed & Two Noughts (ZOO)’ (1985)–Admittedly quite British and pretentious, however despite this the film is actually really good. The plot is too annoying to actually explain so here is a quote by me describing it "inspirational, blue, wonderful, a great soundtrack and lots of snails."
‘Alphaville’ (1965)–no movie recommendation is complete without an obscure french film. This one is by Jean-luc Godard and it's kinda spacey but in the 60s.
‘Barking Dogs Never Bite’ (2000)–everyone and their dog has seen Parasite so I think it's important that we all watch Bong Joon-ho's early film as it is just as good.
‘The Protagonists’ (1999)–I love a semi-meta film-in-a-film so Luca Guadagnino's first film The Protagonists does a great job at filling that hole. Admittedly I haven't finished it but someone else should so I know how it ends. The film also stars Tilda Swinton which is always fun.
He recommends the following musicians + songs.
